The whites wines of the Cuvée Prieur 2018 of the Château Saint Pierre in Côtes de Provence are matured in wood, to give them silky, fat and roundness to make wines to accompany gourmet meals. Wine is able of evolving for one to two years, will improve throughout its aging. It is on cooked fish that it will prove best.


The elegance and nobility of this cuvée positions our Château Saint-Pierre estate among the greatest vintages of Côtes de Provence. These wines from the marriage of grapes and wood will give birth to products, both tender, powerful and harmonious, testifying to a know-how that has been perpetuated over the generations.   


The harvest is manual. The fermentation temperature is adapted according to the maturity of the grape as well as the quality of the vintage. This wine is aged 4 months in oak barrel on fine lees. Regular batonnage for a few months accentuates its roundness and fatness.

Grape varieties: 

90% Rolle: (or Vermentino) The bunches and its berries, of medium size, turn from white to pink when the grapes are ripe. The Rolle likes warm climates where the soils are dry and poor. On the other hand, he fears the wind and diseases. It gives oily, well-balanced white wines. These wines may lack acidity, but they remain very aromatic and give off notes of grapefruit, white fruit, white flowers and fennel.   

10% Clairette : Clairette produces very alcoholic, fresh wines with little bouquet and generally little acidity. It should be drunk within the year otherwise it will materize fairly quickly, taking on a yellow to yellowish brown color (depending on its degree of materization) associated with a certain bitterness. Aromas of fennel, apple, lime, apricot and peach emerge.


Color: The white of the Prieur vintage has a beautiful, bright, yellow color.

Nose: This wine has a finely woody, vanilla nose, which evolves towards aromas of hazelnut and almonds with smoky notes.

Taste: The attack on the palate is frank, revealing a fresh and round wine, the wood remaining well melted.  

Food and wine pairing:  

It can be drunk as an aperitif, it will also appreciate being eaten with white meats.
